The gorgeous and very loud Pye valve record player. A high maintenance creature. Amazing for Haydn quartets and 20s Chicago jazz in particular. Made in the 50s I think. It has a cool little light which shines out the bottom. Not sure what the idea of that is but it seems to add to the experience. The next one will have to be all-mechanical-no-electricity like the one I played with in a flat in Barbès recently.
